Dinging the Shaman

September 20, 2006 - Posted in the World of Warcraft category - Post a Comment (1 comment)

I have decided to take a break from raiding with Aeigelus for about a week or so. I am starting to get annoyed by the same things over and over again, and didn’t want it to become an issue. I have no doubt that after the break, I will be back to raiding hardcore. But until then, its time for Korgg…

Last night was the first night of the break. I am going to be leveling Korgg, my shaman, to at least level 50 before I return to raiding. He is currently level 46 (dinged last night). I will probably be running around with some friends from the Dallas area (and one from the Tampa Bay area, ie - Gitr/Deadr). Last night, we ran through every quest in the Hinterlands area except the Jintha’alor area. I can’t count the amount of wolves, slimes, trolls, moonkins, etc that we killed last night. All in all, it got me from the beginning of 45, to ding 46. After that, we headed over to Feralas, to complete the last of my couple quests I had there. I made it all the way to the Muisek (sp?) quest where you have to capture the elite giants. I am already halfway through 46, so I hope to maybe ding 47 and 48 on Thursday night.

What I love so much about my Shaman, is how hard he actually hits. When I use Windfury 2 on my Mograine's Might, i can crit for about 300-400, and sometimes, that will triple when Windfury procs. My strategy for now, is to melee as much as possible, and don’t use any shocks, as they are extremely mana inefficient. I can usually go a good 20-30 minutes without having to drink. When I am with a group, I will usually heal myself, but if I am soloing quests, I will bandage to conserve mana.

Korgg is already 300 in Herbalism and Alchemy, and has the Transmute: Undeath to Water recipe. Needless to say, gold isn’t an issue. Now that I am 46, I am going to try to get the Transmute: Elemental Fire recipe from Thorium Brotherhood rep, to make some money that way. 3 Elemental Fires from 1 Heart of Fire is a pretty good deal. I would REALLY love to get the Greater Fire Protection Potion recipe as well. Serious $$$.

A Rarity…

A couple nights ago, we took a trip through AQ40. The amazing thing is… we didn’t disenchant a SINGLE piece of loot. I think this is the first time this has happened ever. Even the first time we kill Skeram, we disenchanted something. I dunno about you, but that just screams failed instance design to me. We took down the Twin Emporers again. Took a couple tries, but we actually did it without reaching the Enrage timer this time (had about 45 seconds left). I also picked up my Badge of the Swarmguard off of Sartura. Only had a couple tries testing it, but it seems to work great. Instead of a 950 crit autoshot, i was getting a 1100 crit autoshot with 6 full debuffs.

Grasp of the Fallen Emperor - Twin Emps
Qiraji Execution Bracers - Twin Emps
Vek'lor's Diadem - Twin Emps
Vek'nilash's Circlet - Twin Emps
Qiraji Bindings of Command - Huhuran
Qiraji Bindings of Dominance - Huhuran
Wasphide Gauntlets - Huhuran
Fetish of the Sand Reaver - Fankriss
Barbed Choker - Fankriss
Recomposed Boots - Sartura
Badge of the Swarmguard - Sartura
Ternary Mantle - Bug Trio
Angelista's Charm - Bug Trio
Breastplate of Annihilation - Skeram
Amulet of Foul Warding - Skeram

Twin Emps & Razuvious Down

Last night, we walked into AQ40 after a horrible weekend for attendance. Both Friday and Saturday raids got cancelled because not enough people showed up. Luckily, enough people showed up last night for a solid night of attempts on the Twin Emps. It’s too bad we didn’t need but 3 attempts at them, then they were dead. The third attempt was almost flawless. The Emps enraged because 2 of our best DPS were dead, but they were at approx. 1% when they enraged, so it was an easy kill. I have no doubt we will down them well before the enrage next time.

Loot below:

Vek'lor's Diadem - Twin Emps
Vek'lor's Gloves of Devastation - Twin Emps
Bracelets of Royal Redemption - Twin Emps
Vek'nilash's Circlet - Twin Emps
Qiraji Bindings of Dominance - Huhuran
Qiraji Bindings of Command - Huhuran
Huhuran's Stinger - Huhuran
Ancient Qiraji Ripper - Fankriss
Hive Tunneler's Boots - Fankriss
Gloves of Enforcement - Sartura
Thick Qirajihide Belt - Sartura

In other news, we also downed Instructor Razuvious about a week ago, I just wanted to make sure our Twin Emps downing came before I posted that :) Loot below:

Dreadnaught Sabatons - Razuvious
Veil of Eclipse - Razuvious

While waiting on attempts for Razuvious, I caught a great screenshot of 3 of our best hunters in Method (Guglar, Ogreshoot, Aeigelus)…

No More BWL Loot

On Saturday, we ran through BWL. Mostly one shots, a couple wipes, but we’ve definitely got this place on farm status. After getting my 8/8, and Ashjre’thul, there really wasn’t much more to get from BWL for me. On Saturday, I got my final piece of loot, Prestor's Talisman of Connivery. Only things left outside of Naxx for me, are Badge of the Swarmguard, Cloak of the Shrouded Mists, and Barb of the Sand Reaver. Here’s hoping we can start Naxx soon, so I can make an all new Wishlist :)

Netherwind Robes - Nefarian
Bloodfang Chestpiece - Nefarian
Prestor's Talisman of Connivery - Nefarian
Pure Elementium Band - Nefarian
Head of Nefarian - Nefarian
Claw of Chromaggus - Chromaggus
Nemesis Spaulders - Chromaggus
Dragonstalker's Spaulders - Chromaggus
Empowered Leggings - Chromaggus
Rejuvenating Gem - Flamegor

Aegis of Preservation - Ebonroc

Where is Aeigelus?

Sorry for the lack of updates. Method has been hard at work in AQ40. Let me say this, the Twin Emps are fucking hard. This fight requires every member of the raid to be on their toes. I can’t say I have ever been in a fight this difficult. Luckily, we are starting to get the transitions down, and have them to 75% or so. Can’t really say I have a timeline of when they will go down, but hopefully it will be soon.

In other news, I dropped Enchanting on Aeigelus, in favor of Herbalism. A couple reasons for this. First being, the only reason I picked up enchanting was to disenchant the gear clogging up my bank :) I thought maybe I would be able to farm Scarlet Monestary and D/E the loot there for gold, but that didn’t work out. I never had time for it. The second reason I picked up Herbalism, is because my Shaman, Korgg, is an Alchemist. I have been at 225 Alchemy since level 20, and once he hits 35, I will need to send him herbs to get to 300 Alchemy ASAP.

Speaking of Korgg, I have been playing him a lot lately. My good friends Loctavis and Vorenis have been helping me power level, by running him through Scarlet Monestary. I have been lucky to pick up a lot of good gear in the process (Scarlet Leggings, Raging Berserker's Helm, Scarlet Belt, Aegis of the Scarlet Commander), but I won’t be able to use any of it until I hit 40 and am able to wear Mail. Korgg is already 32, and should be 40 in the next week or two. I would love to be able to take him to 60, and run him through MC to get some Earthfury, but who knows when that will happen.
