This place needs a spruce up…

This design is starting to show its weaknesses. Content area not wide enough, screenshots not prominent enough, too hard to update character area, text too small, item links not prominent enough, etc… So, with that, in the coming month, I am going to redesign the place.

As far as a design goes, I want something a little more simple, with a lot of little subtleties that make the design something to stand out. However, as far as features go, I want to add a few. One idea I had, was to add a flickr photostream of screenshots to the sidebar. Also, maybe a Guides/Articles only section, and a Latest Gear section as well.

Do ya’ll, my faithful readership, have any suggestions I should think about before diving into it?

Ding! Korgg hits 60 in Vegas.

This last week, I have been in Vegas for a Web Development conference (Adobe MAX to be exact). While there, I played a little bit of WoW on the laptop to ding Korgg to 60. I did it, turning in a quest for some Silithus quests in Moonglade. About 20 minutes after I hit 60, I went on a UBRS run with my good friend Traumatic (60 Hunter). I picked up my Pauldrons of Elements off of Rend’s mount. The run started off a little slow, but we picked up some people halfway through, and the run finished VERY well. We took down every boss on the first try.

Last night, I went on a Molten Core run with a friends guild. After the run, they invited me to their guild, and I decided to join, only because it was the guild most of my friends on Burning Legion are in. They are only starting in Molten Core, but its a really good atmosphere. Very intelligent, very organized group of people. I didn’t think I would join an MC guild again, but with the expansion being delayed, I figured it couldn’t hurt. This was only their second Molten Core run, and we made it all the way to Majordomo. Not bad if I must say so. A couple of Earthfury pieces dropped, but I am just a trial in the guild, so no chance for me getting those pieces yet. Can’t wait to run some more with these guys.

And just like that, it’s over…

Last night, after a pretty lackluster showup for Naxxramas (Maexxna attempts), Method broke up. After about an hour in Naxx, with not much progress, we called the raid, and headed back to Orgrimmar. About an hour after that, the fun began. A couple higher ups in the guild quit, and the waterfall of /gquit’s began…

I for one had seen this coming for a few weeks now. The attitude of the guild members just wasn’t the same. There were certain people, just along for the ride, certain people that just didn’t care, etc. All the tell-tale signs of a guild in turmoil.

As for what I will do with Aeigelus, I am not sure. I am 8/8 Tier 2, 2/8 Tier 3, but truthfully, am a little burnt out on the raiding scene. Korgg is 56, so I think I will end up hanging out with some RL friends, and leveling him to 60. I am thinking about starting up a casual guild for the expansion, and maybe something to run through some simple 20 mans before the expansion. Who knows. All I know, is that my life in WoW will be a lot less scheduled. I will now be able to drive home, and not worry about being on, at exactly 5:30, and can just do whatever I please, whenever I want to logon.

No worries though, Aeigelus and Korgg will definitely be around for a long time. I have NO intentions of quitting the game :)

Tier 3, Level 54, and more…

Sorry about the long wait before an update. Been pretty busy at work and at WoW lately. On Saturday, we downed Grand Widow Faerlina. This fight is fun, and annoying at the same time. I love the fact that they have implemented Mind Control into some fights, but could they have picked a more buggy/luck based spell to base a fight on? Not only does it always have a chance to break, it also has a tick that will continue to RAISE that chance to break. Ugh, so frustrating sometimes.

After Faerlina, we went over to the Deathknight wing, and downed Instructor Razuvious easily, and I was able to pickup my first piece of Tier 3, my Cryptstalker Boots. Hopefully I can pick up my bracers sometime this week as well. Loot below…

Splinter of Atiesh - Instructor Razuvious
Girdle of the Mentor - Instructor Razuvious
Cryptstalker Boots - Instructor Razuvious
Leggings of Elemental Fury - Trash Mob
Splinter of Atiesh - Grand Widow Faerlina
Dreadnaught Bracers - Grand Widow Faerlina
The Widow's Embrace - Grand Widow Faerlina
Ring of the Eternal Flame - Trash Mob
Necro-Knight's Garb - Trash Mob
Splinter of Atiesh - Anub’rhekan
Touch of Frost - Anub’rhekan
Bonescythe Bracers - Anub’rhekan

Maexxna attempts are going well. On our first couple tries, we got her to 75%, but this was really late at night. Seems like a very fun fight. I got webbed to the wall once, and it was fun to watch the raid from up top for once.

Korgg dinged 54 on Sunday morning. Finished up a couple of quests in Un’goro and Felwood, and grinded a bit to do it pretty fast as well. I was able to finally make 2 of the 3 pieces of Blue Dragonscale gear I need (Blue Dragonscale Breastplate and Blue Dragonscale Shoulders). I also was able to finally equip 3 of my 8 Tier 0 pieces (Bindings of Elements, Cord of Elements, and Gauntlets of Elements). I picked up a Lord Alexander's Battle Axe off the AH for pretty cheap (like 15g), so thats my main weapon right now. It hits like a truck. I got a triple Windfury crit doing a total of about 2000 damage the other day. Very fun.

I hate the Blasted Lands…

So throughout the life of my shaman, I have always quested with Boxter or Rhone (a good friend in Teen Girl Squad). While doing this gets quests done quickly, it usually leaves me without quests at times when by myself. So last night, I decided to grind my way to 49. I flew over to Feralas, and grinded on the Ogres in the southwestern area. Let me tell you, this is quite possibly one of the BEST grinding spots for a specific class I have ever found. Most of the mobs are casters, so Rank 1 Earth Shock interrupts most of their spells for a measly 30 mana. I dinged 49 around 7:30pm.

Then, I decided I would head over to the Blasted Lands to do the collection quests, for the many buff items you can get (forget the name of all of them). These mobs should be 3 or 4 levels above what they are listed. Not only do they mana burn the fuck out of you, they hit like a truck. I could barely make it through 2 or 3 fights without being completely out of mana, and almost dead. And I was at least 2 or 3 levels higher than the mobs I was fighting. Luckily, Boxter logged on, and came over to help me get the rest of the materials to complete the quests. I am about 50% through 49, so should hit 50 (and maybe if I am lucky, 51) tonight. I also plan on helping Deadr out by running him through a couple instances. Probably will hit up Wailing Caverns and Shadowfang Keep a couple times.

On the gear/items front, I just finished up transmuting all of Boxter’s Essence of Undeath to Essence of Water for his Hide of the Wild, and now its time for me to make mine. I still need to buy all of my Larval Acid and Living Essence though, so it might be a little while till I get it.
