This place needs a spruce up…

November 8, 2006 - Posted in the World of Warcraft category -

This design is starting to show its weaknesses. Content area not wide enough, screenshots not prominent enough, too hard to update character area, text too small, item links not prominent enough, etc… So, with that, in the coming month, I am going to redesign the place.

As far as a design goes, I want something a little more simple, with a lot of little subtleties that make the design something to stand out. However, as far as features go, I want to add a few. One idea I had, was to add a flickr photostream of screenshots to the sidebar. Also, maybe a Guides/Articles only section, and a Latest Gear section as well.

Do ya’ll, my faithful readership, have any suggestions I should think about before diving into it?

Go for 3 columns. It is the best for having room to add new features. Would you be able to remove any pictures of you from your Flickr stream, because I’ve seen your mug now? :)

There are so many cool things out there for widgets and plugins, it takes forever to find what is new and desired, AND then it has to work. Copyblogger has a great piece that got me motivated today.

Definitely needs more cowbell.

Also, possibly tieing into the CTProfiles database might be a cool feature.
