3rd Nefarian Kill in 5 Days

So, after the first kill, and the instance reset kill, we went into BWL last night after the Tuesday maintenance reset, and one shot EVERY boss in the place, except Flamegor and Vael. We have noticed something at Flamegor though… Even though we have him tranqed, he will still be enraged, and let out the fire aura. Has anyone else noticed this? We have never wiped at Flamegor before, but the last 2 times in BWL, since the patch, this has happened both times.

Luckily, when we got to Chromaggus, the only hunter ahead of me in DKP (Ogreshoot, our guild leader), had to go offline due to thunderstorms at his house. This left me first in DKP if Ashjre'thul, Crossbow of Smiting dropped. Sure enough, it dropped, and I now have arguably the best bow in the game. Although, afterwards I felt pretty bad for Ogreshoot, as I know I would have been beyond pissed had that happened to me :) Below is the loot for the entire instance.

Since we haven’t killed Nef yet 8/8 DS isn’t an option. In fact, the furthest through we’ve got thusfar is Ebonroc. I’m not convinced that 3/8 DS or 5/8 DS is worth losing the potential 8/8 GS bonus I’ll get when Garr finally drops my helm.

When have Neffy on farm status for a couple of months and all the other hunters have full DS, then sure, I’ll look into getting it, but why should I dilute the chance of one of the others who have 4 or five bits already getting the first shot at the 8pc bonus?

Grats on your Nef kills though!

As for the upgrade in stats, the DS set as a whole, has 19 more agility than GS, and 1% more crit chance. Nice sure, but not worth going apeshit over imo. (Chrommy’s Xbow is nice though, double grats! :) )

Yeah, I agree on not taking the pieces the 4/8 guys need, but why not go ahead and bid on the ones they already have.

Try to not only focus on Agility. Sure it is our most important stat, but we can’t ignore the others. Take a look at how much more intellect it has. You can crank through a ton more shots with DS than you can with GS :)

Agi: 208 (+19)
Stam: 134 (+6)
Int: 96 (+44, thats 660 mana)
Spi: 57 (+17)
Crit: 5% (+1%)

Thanks for the grats. I am absolutely loving the xbow.

Oh, also, I do agree that breaking that 8 piece GS bonus is very tough to do. I waited until I was 5/8 DS to do it, and haven’t seen a drop in my DPS. Actually, when I got this new xbow, I have jumped up a couple spots on the damage meters.

If I was a MM build, and had points in Barrage, I’d still prolly use GS, even though I’m sick of the looks. But with a heavy AGI build, and a good focus on RAP, the DS is a way to go.

I recommend to any hunters to pick up DS pieces while you can for future considerations. You don’t want to decide later on that you want the full set when your guild doesn’t run MC anymore or wait for months to get the last piece you need knowing that it’s been dusted a few times before.

Anyway, gratz on the bow. I’ve been passing it to the rest of the hunters with lesser gear to help them out with their DPS while I wait for Huhuran's Stinger, but I’ll pick it up soon.
