Broodlord Down!

April 24, 2006 - Posted in the World of Warcraft category - Post a Comment (2 comments)

Wow. BWL is a fucking insane instance. I would be happy if I never had to go through another suppresion room again in my life. That place will frustrate you more than maybe any place in the game. The basic concept behind the suppresion rooms is this, you have a rogue stealting through the room as you progress, disarming the suppresion traps. If you don’t do that, then you get a Suppresion Aura, that reduces your movement speed by something like 75%, and casting speed by the same. All mages and warlocks, have to AoE down about 5-10 whelps at a time. All other DPS must help take down the elite dragonkin and humanoids throughout the room. There are about 6 “cubbies” you have to go through to do all of this, and the kicker, is that you have to move to the next cubby within about 2-3 minutes, or the previous mobs will respawn. Broodlord himself is actually a fairly simple fight. He can do a Mortal Strike that hits the tank for around 7k, but as long as your healers are on the ball like ours were, you should be fine.

All in all, we one shotted Razorgore, 3 shotted Vael, and 2 shotted Broodlord. A good night to say the least.

I wish I could have gotten a screenshot of the suppression room with everything in it, but things were a little too hectic. Below is a screenshot of it after Broodlord was taken down.

Below is a screenshot of Aeigelus (full GS baby!) in front of Firemaw’s room. We tried him out a couple times, but it was late, and I think people were falling asleep at their computers. We should get Firemaw, and the other 2 drakes down tonight.

Below is the loot from their respective bosses…

Greaves of Ten Storms - Broodlord
Boots of Transcendence - Broodlord
Head of the Broodlord Lashlayer - Broodlord
Pendant of the Fallen Dragon - Vael
Belt of Transcendence - Vael
Belt of Transcendence - Vael
Bracelets of Wrath - Razorgore
Dragonstalker's Bracers - Razorgore
Mantle of the Blackwing Cabal - Razorgore

Giantstalker Set Complete

- Posted in the World of Warcraft category - Post a Comment (2 comments)

Couple of updates to get to in this post, so bear with me on the length. First off, last Thursday, Method took our weekly trip through Molten Core. For the past 4 weeks or so, I have been on top of DKP to get the Giantstalker's Leggings and Giantstalker's Helmet. They were all I needed to complete my 8/8 set. I had hoped that at least one of them would drop, preferably the helmet, as I still had a green helmet. To my surprise, both the leggings AND helmet dropped, completing my Giantstalker set. The 8/8 set bonus is AMAZING to say the least. 15% damage to Multishot and Volley means I probably won’t even be equipping any Dragonstalker I get until I get the full set.

I would say that the next most important pieces of gear for me, would probably be 2 new weapons (hopefully a Doom's Edge, Core Hound Tooth, or Brutality Blade), a good necklace, and maybe another good ring or two. Of course, if any Dragonstalkers gear drops, I won’t pass on it :)

Loot for the Molten Core run is as follows…

Wristguards of True Flight - Majordomo
Fireproof Cloak - Majordomo
Breastplate of Might - Golemagg
Robes of Prophecy - Golemagg
Blastershot Launcher - Golemagg
Mantle of Prophecy - Sulfuron
Pauldrons of Might - Sulfuron
Felheart Slippers - Shazzrah
Giantstalker's Gloves - Shazzrah
Cenarion Spaulders - Baron Geddon
Arcanist Mantle - Baron Geddon
Giantstalker's Helmet - Garr
Mana Igniting Cord - Garr
Heavy Dark Iron Ring - Gehennas
Nightslayer Gloves - Gehennas
Mana Igniting Cord - Magmadar
Felheart Pants - Magmadar
Giantstalker's Leggings - Magmadar
Felheart Gloves - Lucifron
Earthfury Boots - Lucifron

Vael Down!

April 18, 2006 - Posted in the World of Warcraft category - Post a Comment (0 comments)

After 15 hours over 2 days in BWL (not straight through of course), Method has finally downed Vaelastrasz the Corrupt. The adventure started, with Method easily one shotting Razorgore on Saturday night. I had a family event to attend, so I showed up when they were first starting to attempt Vael. We wiped probably about 15 times that night trying to get the strategy down. We decided that taking a break, and coming back in on Monday night would be our best option, as it was 1a.m. and everyone was beat. So, we started attempting Vael around 6:30p.m. last night, and after 7 wipes, the spirits were starting to faulter. You could tell people were getting tired of this nasty bitch. Our 8th try, things were going wonderfully, everybody was doing their jobs perfectly, but we wiped at 1%… At this point, I figured everyone wasn’t going to try NEARLY as hard the next attempt, as thats the way things usually go. But, I was wrong. We took him down the very next attempt.

Dragonstalker's Bracers - Razorgore (grats Ogreshoot)
Bindings of Transcendence - Razorgore
Gloves of Rapid Evolution - Razorgore
Stormrage Belt - Vaelastrasz
Waistband of Wrath - Vaelastrasz
Rune of Metamorphosis - Vaelastrasz

In Other News…

So, I haven’t been posting a lot lately, sue me… One piece of news that I have failed to mention, is that I got promoted in the ranks of Method. I am now an Officer. I have absolutely loved my time with Method. This guild is like no other. All of the officers have their shit together, all of the members are dedicated, people treat others with respect, etc… Thus, the decision to accept the officer position was an easy one. Thanks to Ogreshoot, Jaed, Gowron, Zultuk, and Xellos for believing that I am Officer caliber.

Also, I have yet to post a screenshot of Aeigelus with his new bow. Below is a screenshot of that, although, its not the greatest. Getting a good screenshot in mid-shot with an Orc is near to impossible with these skateramps on my shoulders.

We have Sinew!

April 10, 2006 - Posted in the World of Warcraft category - Post a Comment (4 comments)

After what seems like about 10,000 elite Cobalt dragonkin (the Winterspring variety), the Mature Blue Dragon Sinew finally dropped! While my friend Kevin and I were farming last night, about 2 hours in, one of these ugly beast finally decided to drop his sinew. I would estimate Vorenis got about 200 Blue Dragonscale’s, 1000 Rugged Leather’s, 200 Worn Dragonscale’s, and we each netted about 50-60g in dropped coin over the last 2 weeks of farming. Vorenis has gone from lvl 50-56 in the time it took us. Phew. Glad this crap is done. Or is it?

When I went to Felwood to turn in the sinew, I talked to one of the Ancients, turned in the sinew, got the “You received item: Ancient Sinew Wrapped Lamina”, but low and behold, no such thing in my inventory. Shit. So, I submitted a GM ticket, and waited around for an hour or two. Nothing. So I went to bed. I checked my email this morning, and luckily a GM fixed the issue last night. Apparently, you can’t have your quiver in the second slot (the one to the left of your main bag) when receiving another quiver. Odd. Oh well, just glad it’s fixed.

If you are wondering what the sinew is for, it is needed in the quest to get my epic quiver, the Ancient Sinew Wrapped Lamina. It is one of the three quests you get when you receive the Ancient Petrified Leaf from Majordomo’s chest.

On another note, this site is in dire need of some screenshots. I need to find a good process to take the screenshots with me to work, so I can edit them here (where I write most of the entries). I have a ton of good shots to post up here, just have to get it done :) Soon enough.

Molten Core - 4/1/2006

Sorry about the lack of updates lately. It’s been a really busy week. Method ended up running Molten Core twice this week. Once on Thursday, and once on Saturday, due to the server reset due to instance times being screwed up. Double loot for us, woot! :) Each run, we only had time to get through Golemagg, as either the server was being cranky/laggy, or we tried BWL for a couple hours before the run. I would like to personally congratulate my good friend Loctavis on being our guilds newest loot whore. He ended up with 4 epics (Arcanist Boots, Shoulders, Helm, and Bracers) on Thursday. Thursday was also the day that Golemagg dropped my Giantstalker's Breastplate, woot! Below is the loot for Thursday…
