Molten Core - 2/7/2006

Another Molten Core run, more Shaman drops :) I swear, Blizzard loves our guilds Shamans and Warlocks waaaay too much.

We had a bit of trouble getting used to the new Out of Combat rez features Blizzard put into the 1.9.3 patch, but nothing huge. After a bit of a slow start, we only ended up making it through Garr, but we will finish Baron, Shazz, Sulfuron and Golemagg on Saturday easily. Next up, Onyxia on Thursday. Heres to hoping the Mature Black Dragon Sinew drops for my good friend Bigbadpapa.

Flameguard Gauntlets - Garr
Earthfury Helmet - Garr
Gutgore Ripper - Garr
Earthfury Belt - Trash Mob
Earthfury Gauntlets - Gehennas
Sabatons of Might - Gehennas
Earthfury Legguards - Magmadar
Pants of Prophecy - Magmadar
Mana Igniting Cord - Magmadar
Felheart Gloves - Lucifron
Cenarion Boots - Lucifron

Onyxia Troubles

Saturday night, we attempted Onyxia. The plan, was to take her down, no matter how late it was. This was stated very early on in the week, in numerous places. Yet, after our second failed attempt at her (got her to 38% both times), people left. And not just 1 or 2 people, in upwards of 10 people left the raid group. Whether it be for work reasons, sleep reasons, or friend reasons… Now, I am not one to complain about “having a life outside WoW”, but I just dont understand why this many people would leave the group after only a second attempt. If it were 2 or 3 people, thats one thing, but 8-10 people? Dissapointing… We eventually tried 5 or 6 more times, but with only 30 people, it’s nearly impossible for a guild that has never taken her down.

Question… 1) How does your guild deal with people who leave the raid group? DKP hit? DKP for people who were there at the end of the raid? 2) This question actually came up with our group. Some people had heard that Onyxia’s difficulty level scales based on the amount of people in the raid group. Is this true?

Molten Core - 2/3/2006

Last night, our guild (Nightelf Skinning Co.) ran our 2nd Molten Core run of the week. Our mission? To take down Sulfuron, Golemagg, and Majordomo. Well, we completed 2 of 3. I was hoping that the Giantstalker Epaulets would drop off of Sulfuron, as I was the #1 Hunter in DKP in attendance. After some tanking issues with the first of Sulfuron’s priests, and it causing us to wipe 3 times, we killed the punk easily on the 4th try. We quickly moved onto Golemagg, and killed him on the second shot. Afterwards, we were only able to get in 2 shots at Majordomo, but alas, our efforts weren’t enough (our best effort saw us taking down 5 of the 8 guards). Below is the loot from Sulfuron and Golemagg.

Staff of Dominance - Golemagg the Incinerator
Cenarion Vestments - Golemagg the Incinerator
Nightslayer Chestpiece - Golemagg the Incinerator
Manastorm Leggings - Sulfuron Harbinger
Mantle of Prophecy - Sulfuron Harbinger
Nightslayer Bracelets - Trash Mob

No Giantstalker shoulders for me :( No worries though, I am still 1st in DKP :)

Welcome to Aeigelus.com

Well, I guess this is the start of it. Since I hit 60 about a month or so ago, I have wanted to somehow document my travels through World of Warcraft in a blog. Seeing that I am not alone (see the links on the right), I figured “what the hell” and threw a quick design together, and thats where we are now.

What you will see here

You will see a multitude of posts here. Most of the posts will focus on the trials and tribulations of my 3 main characters on Burning Legion. Aeigelus, a 60 Orc Hunter… Aeigelan, a 36 Undead Mage… and Korgg, a 16 Orc Shaman. Aeigelus see’s the most use, as you can probably tell from the domain name. I am in a great guild, named Nightelf Skinning Company. We are currently up to Ragnaros in MC, Hakkar in ZG, and very soon, we will be downing Onyxia with ease.

Who will be posting?

Most of the time, I will be the only author on this blog. Every once and a while though, you will see a guest post from one of my many real life friends on Burning Legion. We have a great time together, and it would be an injustice to not allow these stories to make their way onto this blog. If the opportunity presents itself, you might also see informative posts or stories from guildmates of mine.

Let me know if you are here

Don’t be afraid to comment. I really love to see who reads this junk. Post a comment, lemme know you dropped by. Make sure to leave your character name, server, etc. I will definitely try to pop into your server, and give you a shout.
